Melon Sandbox is all about curiosity. You load a map, drop a few objects into it, and suddenly you're wondering what happens if you add one more explosive... or ten. There isn't a story pushing you forward or a list of missions waiting to be completed. The game hands you a collection of tools and says, "Go make something interesting."

Sometimes that means building an elaborate machine. Sometimes it means knocking everything over to watch the physics engine react. Either way, there's always something unexpected around the corner.
The game includes 12 pixel-art maps, and each one changes the way you play. A lab is good for small experiments, and the city gives you a lot of room for big creations. The forest, desert, ocean, and space maps all have their own atmosphere, making it easy to jump between ideas without getting bored.
Nothing is locked behind progress, so you can explore every environment whenever you like.
Getting started takes almost no effort. Pick a map, open the Spawn Menu, and begin placing anything that catches your eye.
Characters, weapons, props, and other objects can all be mixed. You might build a giant obstacle course, create a strange vehicle, or arrange a chain reaction to see if it actually works. The fun comes from experimenting rather than following instructions.
If the screen turns into complete chaos, use Clear Everything to wipe the map clean and start fresh.

There's something satisfying about never knowing exactly what's going to happen. The physics system creates little surprises all the time. A tiny change in your setup can completely alter the outcome, which is probably why it's so easy to spend "just five more minutes" playing.
A few standout features include:
Finished causing chaos? There are plenty of other games that scratch the same itch. Ragdoll Hit is silly physics battles, Ragdoll Flip turns awkward movement into a challenge, and Ragdoll Arena brings competitive action to the mix. Long Leg Master has another dose of unpredictable fun.
What makes Melon Sandbox memorable is that it doesn’t try to tell you how to play. Some players spend hours creating clever contraptions. Others enjoy launching ragdolls across the screen to see what happens. However you decide to play, there's always another experiment waiting to surprise you.
